Travel Updates

Saturday morning will find me seated on a flight back home to San Francisco for about 3 weeks. The first week of my trip will be taken up with a global design conference at Yahoo!s headquarters where I will be presenting to my peers. I love these global pow wows we have and can't wait to see some old friends from my former office. Still, there will be a lot of new faces as I moved to Sydney over 3 years ago now. I also help to stop into some of my favourite design shops and also catch up with old friends like the Moda-Mia crew and Derek at Urbana Design.

Sydney Art 05 is on this weekend and I will have work available at the Global Gallery stand. At the same time, about 7 pieces have been shipped off to Grenada Productions at Fox Studios for use on Australia's Next Top Model. My work adorning the house of potential supermodels..I love it.

Two exhibitions coming up, the best one looks like it'll be at Moda Rouge Gallery down in Victoria. I love these guys because they've bent over backwards to help my career reach new levels. I owe them so much for the recent corporate commission for Samsung. This show will be advertised on the site as will the following show at Blender Gallery in Sydney so keep checking out some of the great new upcoming work being displayed. I think people are going to love the new series for children's spaces.

Officially I am coining the new e-word "Indivisual".

Def.: (adj.) A person who's visual style or portrayal goes against that of the norm. They are a rogue visualist. Usually used in referring to sub-culture or sub-genre artists and designers.

Colourlovers

I've only recently become aware of the Colourlovers site but I have to say I'm addicted. The method to my madness has been to create colour swatches that have their own stand alone identity. but once combined together, they tell an overall story that results in the naming of the palette.

For example:

Colour 1: Oops
Colour 2: Feb 14
Colour 3: Uh-oh
Colour 4: Like a virgin
Colour 5: Afterwards
