As many people know, I spent a lot of my younger years growing up in New York. As with living in any big city, the problem of the homeless and providing enough food for the masses is a task usually taken up by local religious organisations and outreach programs. The Capuchin Franciscans (yeah those cool ass monks who make great beer) have a program called the Capuchin Food Pantries in New York City and every couple of years they ask celebrities and artists to donate work with the Doodle for Hunger auction at Tavern on the Green.
I was asked to participate this year and am happily donating two pieces to the cause. This year's "Doodle for Hunger" Celebrity Art Auction is in honor of the Cast of Law & Order and is dedicated to the amazing actor and faithful Doodler, Jerry Orbach of whom I'm a huge fan. So for more info and to see what other celebs participate, check out their site online. It's a good cause. Happy bidding.
